Frequently asked questions
Short answers, with links to the longer ones.
- How long does the assessment take?
- About 8 minutes. There are 24 questions.
- Is it a test? Can I pass or fail?
- No. It describes behavioural preferences. There are no right or wrong answers.
- What does DISC measure, and what does it not?
- It describes tendencies in behaviour: pace, decision-making, and how a person relates to others and to detail. It does not measure intelligence, skill, values, honesty or mental health, and it does not predict performance. See What is DISC?
- How are the scores worked out?
- For each of the 24 questions you choose the statement most like you and the one least like you. Those choices give each of the four styles a share of the profile (adding to 100%) and a strength from 0 to 100. See how the assessment works.
- What if someone rushed it?
- The platform checks for signs of rushing or repeated patterns and tells the reader how much weight to give the result. It does not change the scores.
- Is a score compared with other people?
- Sometimes. Where a report compares a score with a group, it says whether the group comes from published research or from our own data. We use our own data only when there are at least 30 assessments in a group.
- Can I use DISC to decide who to hire?
- Not as the deciding factor. Use it to prepare better interview questions, alongside skills, experience and references. Read DISC for hiring.
- Who sees my results?
- Your results belong to you and the organisation or consultant who invited you. In Engage, what you write, read or plan stays private to you. A facilitator sees only whether you have opened your page, and simple counts.
- Which languages are available?
- The interface is available in English, Arabic, Bahasa Malaysia and Hindi.
- How is DISC different from other personality tools?
- DISC describes four observable styles of behaviour at work. Tools such as the Big Five measure five broad personality traits, and others, such as MBTI, sort people into sixteen types. They answer different questions and are not interchangeable.
- How do credits work?
- One credit is used each time a participant completes an assessment. See pricing.
- Are the AI-written reports reliable?
- They are written by an AI model from the person’s own profile and they read well, but treat them as a starting point for a conversation rather than an authoritative assessment.
